Tom Davin

Tom Davin is chief executive officer of Panda Restaurant Group Inc., the leading Asian restaurant chain. Davin joined the privately held company in 2004 as president and chief operating officer to accelerate Panda’s growth in partnership with founder Andrew Cherng (co-chair) and Peggy Cherng (co-chair).

Davin serves on the board of directors of Zumiez, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZUMZ) and Oakley, Inc. (NYSE: OO). From 2001 to 2004, Davin was the operating partner at Brentwood Associates, the Los Angeles-based private equity firm with $750 million of capital.

From 1991 to 2000, Davin was a senior executive with PepsiCo Inc. and Taco Bell Corp. He was one of the founding partners who led the 1997 creation of Tricon Global Restaurants Inc. (now YUM! Brands), the NYSE company comprised of Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut. Davin was Taco Bell’s chief operating officer from 1997 to 2000 when he led the company’s operational turnaround.

Davin joined PepsiCo Inc. (Purchase, N.Y.) in 1991 as director of mergers and acquisitions to lead the in-house advisory department chartered to expand PepsiCo through acquisitions and joint ventures. Before joining PepsiCo, Davin was the director of corporate development for the Henley Group Inc. (Hampton, NH) from 1989 to 1991. From 1987 to 1989, Davin was an associate in the mergers and acquisitions group of Goldman, Sachs & Co. (New York, N.Y.).
