Randal Hernandez is senior vice president and senior public policy executive with Bank of America, leading the bank’s California strategic initiatives by building partnerships with public sector and community organizations. Since 2005, he been the primary liaison to senior state officials and local public officials regarding public policy and civic engagement activities. From 1999 until 2004, he was a vice president of government relations in California, and later a senior market development manager.
He left Bank of America in January 2004 to become the appointments secretary for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He rejoined the bank in January 2005.
Previously, Mr. Hernandez was the chief of staff for five years to Long Beach Mayor Beverly O’Neill, who was first elected to office in July 1994. Before that, Hernandez was regional affairs manager for Southern California Edison for two years, and he served at the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce for four years, first as vice president for government affairs, and from 1992 to 1993 as president and chief executive officer.
Mr. Hernandez is a member of the boards of the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislatures; California Latino Caucus Institute for Public Policy; California Center for Regional Leadership; Center for the Study of Los Angeles at Loyola Marymount University; and the Central City Association, Los Angeles. He serves as Bank of America’s primary liaison to the California Chamber of Commerce, California Business Roundtable, California Business for Education Excellence and the California Bankers Association. |
