Martha C. de la Torre
El Clasificado

Martha C. de la Torre is the president and publisher of the highly awarded publications El Clasificado and Al Borde. El Clasificado is the largest Spanish free weekly magazine in the United States and Al Borde is an alternative entertainment guide for the Latino community.

Martha was inspired to work in the Hispanic community through her experience with Hispanic businesses while working as a certified public accountant at Arthur Young & Company (now known as Ernst & Young). While a manager at Arthur Young, Martha noticed increased interest by investment bankers in Hispanic businesses and accepted an offer to work at La Opinion as chief financial officer in 1986. She left La Opinion and started El Clasificado in 1988.

She has been on the board of various nonprofit organizations including the Los Angeles Child Guidance Clinic, Loyola Marymount University’s Mexican American Alumni Association, L.A. Family Housing and the Los Angeles County Education Foundation. She also serves on the board of Don Bosco Technical School. In 2006, Martha was appointed to the prestigious Loyola Marymount University Board of Regents. She is also a Latino advisory member of the National Federation of Independent Business.
