Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce
Gary L. Toebben assumed the position of president and chief executive officer of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce on July 1, 2006. The chamber is the largest business organization in America’s second largest city. It serves as a trustee for the current and future welfare of the region by championing initiatives that contribute to the economic prosperity and quality of life of the businesses and citizens of Los Angeles.
Before moving to Los Angeles, Toebben served as president of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce for seven years; the Lawrence, Kansas, Chamber of Commerce for 18 years and the North Platte, Nebraska, Chamber of Commerce for six years. He began his professional career as a teacher with the Lincoln, Nebraska, public schools.
Toebben served as chairman of the board of directors of the American Chamber of Commerce Executives in 2003 and is currently a member of the ACCE Board of Trustees. ACCE is the professional organization for all chamber of commerce executives in the United States and Canada. |
