Corey Carleton joined the Los Angeles Economy & Jobs Committee in January of 2007 as Assistant Director.  Prior to her position with LAEJC Corey was Vice President for the Grammy® award winning group Los Angeles Chamber Singers where she led a marketing strategy for the group’s first Grammy® winning recording in 2006, “Padilla – Sun of Justice.”

A professional musician, Corey also has over 5 years experience in economic development, four of which were earned at the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) in the Business Assistance Program specializing in small business assistance and outreach, grant writing and contract management.  During her time at LAEDC she helped bring in over two million dollars to the Business Assistance Program.  At the LAEDC she was also an integral member of the Regional Business Assistance Network (RBAN) team and managed twelve RBAN quarterly meetings.  Among her many accomplishments she also managed job fairs, an access to capital conference and cooperated with the World Trade Center Association and the Mayor’s Office for an international business fair.

Corey Carleton graduated from U.C. Berkeley and Indiana University with a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree, respectively, in music.  She believes one day she will be able to combine her experience in economic development with arts organization administration.
